Historial Museums

  • Highline Heritage Museum (819 SW 152nd St.) Highline Heritage Museum captures the stories of the Highline region to create exhibits, public programs and educational programs that enrich our cultural connections. Parks with Playgrounds

  • Arbor Lake Park (12380 2nd Avenue S.) This 8.5-acre park features a small lake that is the headwaters for Miller Creek.

  • Chelsea Park (802 SW 137th Street) The park is home to a softball/baseball field, soccer field, and play equipment, and provides a good view of Mt. Rainier to the southeast.

  • Dottie Harper Park (421 SW 146th Street) A 3.5 acre wooded park with mature second-growth firs, cedars, hemlocks, and native hardwoods. Also features a remodeled playground, picnic space, amphitheater, and walking trails.

  • Jacob Ambaum Park (12621 Ambaum Blvd. SW) Named after early Burien resident Jacob Ambaum, the park offers a playground, basketball court, picnic tables, and benches. The park has a small on-site parking lot.

  • Lake Burien School Memorial Park (1620 SW 149th Street) 4.6 acres of active use space including open lawn area, tennis courts, walking trail, playground, and restrooms.

  • Lakeview Park (422 SW 160th Street) 2.8 acre neighborhood park that offers a playground for youth, basketball court, open lawn area, picnic spaces, and the Burien Toyota & Chevrolet Dog Park.

  • Manhattan Park (18386 4th Ave S.) The park offers a playground, picnic tables, and benches.

  • Mathison Park (533 S 146th Street) This 5.3 acre neighborhood park is located two blocks south of the highest point in Burien (463 feet). The northern edge is just 10 feet below that peak elevation. The park has a paved trail and playgrounds, and provides has views to Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, and SeaTac Airport.

  • Puget Sound Park (135 SW 126th Street) This 5-acre park is located along 1st Avenue S in north Burien. This park features a .25 mile walking trail, playground, basketball court, picnic tables, and benches. The park features an on-site parking lot.

  • Seahurst (Ed Munro) Park (1600 SW Seahurst Park Road) The jewel of Burien's park system, Seahurst Park offers a saltwater beach on Puget Sound, views to the Olympic Mountains, reservable picnic shelters and tables, a playground area, and several trails.

  • Southern Heights Park (12025 14th Avenue S) This park property is owned by the local water district and is operated by the City of Burien. Located in north Burien, the park features open lawn area and playground for ages 2-5.

  • Moshier Memorial Park (430 S 156th Street) Moshier Memorial Park offers 15.2 acres of developed athletic fields, an arts center and parking. Amenities include expansive open fields for soccer, baseball, softball or other field sports.

  • Miller Creek Trail (14455 Des Moines Memorial Drive) The completed trail section runs from Des Moines Memorial Drive north to South 140th St. Recreational improvements include a small parking lot and trailhead with interpretive signage and picnic tables. Along the trail there is wayfaring signage, park benches, trash receptacles, boardwalks and additional interpretive signage.

  • Town Square Park Town Square Park is located at the center of Town Square, immediately adjacent to the Burien Library and City Hall. It is the venue for numerous community events. The park has a splash park water feature that is open May through October.

Skate Parks

  • Burien Skate Park (14549 4th Ave. SW) The 7,400 square foot cement skate park includes adjacent open lawn, picnic tables, and benches.

Basketball Courts

  • Burien Toyota and Chevrolet Dog Park (15820 6th Ave SW) The Burien Toyota & Chevrolet Dog Park is adjacent to Lakeview Park, a 5.0 acre neighborhood park located in Burien.

  • Grandview Park (3600 S. 228th St Seatac) Though, not a City of Burien park, this off-leash dog park is available to citizens of Burien through a partnership between several cities and user groups.

  • Dottie Harper Park (421 SW 146th Street) A 3.5 acre wooded park with mature second-growth firs, cedars, hemlocks, and native hardwoods. Also features a remodeled playground, picnic space, amphitheater, and walking trails.

  • Hazel Valley Park (251 SW 126th Street) A 2.9 acre park accessible from 124th St. The park offers a paved walking trail neighbored by a grove of mature fir trees.

  • Lake Burien School Memorial Park (1620 SW 149th Street) 4.6 acres of active use space including open lawn area, tennis courts, walking trail, playground, and restrooms.

  • Salmon Creek Park (700 SW 118th Street) This 4.5-acre park is located in north Burien. The park features open lawn space, walking trail, picnic table, and benches.

  • Salmon Creek Ravine (12550 Shorewood Drive SW) The open space park is undeveloped. It features 88 acres of river bank vegetation set along the Salmon Creek drainage, popular for hikers with its mostly primitive trail system.

  • Shorewood Park (11830 28th Ave. SW) Shorewood Park offers 3.4 acres of wooded, neighborhood parkland including a short, leisurely walking trail. It is actively maintained by volunteers from the neighborhood and the Shorewood-on-the-Sound Community Club.
