WE BELIEVE YOUR HOME IS YOUR SANCTUARY AND A REFLECTION OF YOU!
A home should always be your refuge from life’s hectic pace. It should be a haven enveloping you with the color and personality of those living in it. We want you to feel a breath of freshness and tranquility each time you open your door. Our purpose is to find that special piece, pattern or element that is an extension of those that dwell there.
WE CONSIDER NATURE AS THE ULTIMATE SOURCE FOR INSPIRATION!
From the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, we derive our “handprint” from its elements. From stone to evergreen and mountains to shore… everything that surrounds us exemplifies the perfect backdrop for home décor.
WE CULTIVATE THE GIVER IN YOU!
We source unique gifts that not only echo the outdoors, but also delight and charm the receiver. We embrace the organic sentiment of our region and reinforce this through the selection of our featured, local artisans.
We aspire to be the finest all-inclusive store for home accessories, furnishings and gifts. We will strive to broaden and elevate our offering as we grow and are devoted to providing our clients with timeless, sophisticated and functional selections.
1. Expand our client base from the immediate neighboring community into those outside our zip code.
2. Increase our sales volume so that we may carry more inventory and a lower volume discount from vendors.
3. Work with local real estate agents as a staging company to furnish vacant homes using goods available for sale labeled as “consignment” after use.
4. Work with and feature top artists in our area as customer buying power allows.
5. Physically expand further into our existing shared space in 3-5 years.
As Co-Owner of Sitka Living, Rebecca Zielinski brings more than just a flare for the administrative side of the business. She has fulfilled her many passions as a coach, chef abroad, project/property manager and catering director. Her endeavors bring a unique skill set to not just running a business but an intuition for a customer’s needs. They have also led her to hosting guests at her warm and inviting vacation rentals which have evolved into a design portfolio of her own creation. Her love for the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest inspires her style, but with a little pinch of whimsy and nostalgia.
Her many careers have molded her into a bit of an adventurer, but also filled her with an appetite to do, see and pursue more. Starting this business with a partner that shares the same zeal for home design and serving customers is the culmination of all of her experiences.
She values family above all else, the outdoors, taking care of one another and the very ground we stand on. She resonates with the simple beauty that surrounds us and believes that replicating that inside your home is a reminder of not only what we should be grateful for, but the simpliest way to create your own sanctuary. It would be an offense to leave out that her most humbling place of peace - the Big Island.
Outside of her professional life, she volunteers as a soccer coach, enjoys camping with her partner a Seattle Firefighter, spends summers with family and friends at Gregory Seahurst Swim Club and indulges in long hours cooking with her extended family. Oh, and her two children would be a hot mess if she didn’t mention how much she loves being their mom (and the fact that they took part in stripping the store floors)! Currently she lives in West Seattle, but grew up in the communities of Des Moines, Normandy Park and Shorewood.
Co-Owner, Lori Glynn is originally from Toledo, Ohio and has an associate's degree in accounting. She moved out to Seattle in 1995 and was a flight attendant for 8 years. While traveling around the world, she taught herself to make jewelry and started selling at Camelion Design in Ballard. In 2003, she began working at Camelion full-time. This is where she found a love for home décor and design. She loves using different textiles and colors to create an environment that speaks true to her personality. She expresses her passion for nature and the outdoors through her designs and décor. She channels her artistic side with a goal of creating an atmosphere that is both fresh and soothing. She has been successful working as a design consultant for 15 years and is extremely excited to realize her dream of branching out on her own.
She hopes to build relationships in Burien and the surrounding community. She is practical, honest and sometimes gets herself in trouble because some might find her too direct… which is refreshing in this industry! The new connections she makes with customers are more valuable to her than just selling a product.
Outside of her career, she enjoys camping, hiking with her two kids (twins!) and surrounds herself with friends that are just as energetic and highly motivated as her. She finds her inner peace on the ocean, activities in sports and spending time with her children. She currently lives in Gregory Heights.
